April Fool’s Day – oh the memories! Well, we aren't tricking you at all as we will be open this Friday and Saturday (April 1 and 2) with great deals. Charlie and Tesa have been busy bees finding new ‘olds’ and putting new life back into them. They've both been to auctions, estate sales and basically scouring the countryside to look for items to sell or improve. As you can see in several of the pictures, he has been painting and painting and painting. All looks really good and very unique. Tesa has been working as well and found some awesome things. Make sure you come by. Many things will be at incredible discounts that you don’t want to miss.

"Best-laid plans...." to quote Robert Burns, happens to all of us, Charlie and I are no exception. Due to legitimate reasons such as the health of a family member of one of the new leasees, the lease on the shop had to be cancelled last Thursday. We are disappointed but thoroughly understand. With that said, we are not under immediate pressure to move. What now? We are continuing to clean out and will be open periodically - at this point, probably quarterly. I plan to continue to post the blog and will definitely send out emails to let you know what he has found (you know he can't stop the hunt). Thank you to all that came by to see us during the last three weeks. We really appreciate you friendship and business.

BUILDING LEASED - CLEARING OUT SALE - LAST DAYS

Well, three days left (Januray 27-29, 2011) and we will be through. We've sold a lot of merchandise and we thank each and everyone of you who have come to see us. It has been fun seeing you again. Do we have anything left? Of course we do. We have furniture, lamps, smalls, etc. This week, we are going to still reduce everything 40% and will also consider offers. The pictures below show some of the items we have left.

So, what is next?

Since we own the building next door - the one where Randall is set up- we plan to use it and occasionally have sales there. Charlie has the bug and loves finding estates. I'm sure he'll be out there on the search for those great deals and great finds. We will let you know when he has found one.

Randall will be open next door during our sale again. Below are some of his finds. The first one is a Coca Cola set from Germany. It includes the cooler and the dishes shown. The other pictures are just a sampling of the glassware and dishes he has available. At the end of the pictures, you will find two of his pencil/charcoal drawings of homes in Lamar and Spalding counties. Charlie and I are so impressed with his talent that we are asking him to draw our house. Stop by to see him when you visit us.

CLEARING OUT - BUILDING LEASED - SALE CONTINUES

Thank you to all who came and participated in the sale this past weekend. It was great to see so many of you that we haven't seen since the store 'closed'. We will be open this weekend but starting on Thursday instead of Friday. We will be open Thursday-Saturday (January 21-23) and still, everything is 40% off. (We'll also be open the last weekend of the month, Thursday-Saturday.)

Although we sold a lot, we still have quite a bit left and all of it is looking for a new home. We are even selling the display items - shelves, display cases, etc. Below is a mere sampling of what is available. Whew, it has been a long time since I've posted a blog. This particular blog is very important in that we have leased our building and need to clear out as much as possible by February 1st. We want to let you, our friends and customers, know that we will be open the last three weekends of this month to do just that. We're Back - Well, Sort Of.........

We're back - well, sort of....... As you know, we closed the store in July and have been busy since then. We did take a wonderful vacation rafting in the Grand Canyon with six friends- a bucket list trip for sure. Now, we are slowly but surely getting rid of the inventory we have left in the store. We have a booth at Weekend Treasures and are excited about the upcoming Anniversary Celebration that will be going on next weekend, November 13-16, 2008. Below, you'll find pictures of our booth and Charlie's artwork. I always knew he had artistic talent and lately, he's been working on it. He is painting on old boards and tin. Who knows what will be next. The mushroom painting is finished and is at Weekend Treasures. The rest are works in progress. He is enjoying it and I think he doing a great job. I've also included some nature shots I have taken lately. I'm experimenting with black and white plus the antique look. Let me know what you think.

As for this blog, I plan to continue posting. I've rather missed it. Although I won't be sending email notices unless something big is happening, I hope you'll keep coming to our spot to see what is going on.

My Nature Shots

The first two I call "The Neighbors".

This deer was grazing late one afternoon. He is an eight pointer and this is the only shot I was able to get of him.

These turkeys were all in our front yard one morning. I think there were 13 in all. They hung around for quite awhile. The cat even when to check them out and it didn't bother them a bit.

I am experimenting with black and white plus the antique look. Not sure yet how I like it yet. Thoughts?

Now, for the announcement. I have been wanting to do something with my nature photos that I've placed on the blog so, I have created "bloomies,etc.". "bloomies,etc." is the company name for products produced from the photos. So far, I've only had time to make a few gift bags, gift tags, note cards, blow-up a picture for framing (which sold at the Auburn Alumni meeting this week) and create a blog. I have other projects in the process so stay tuned. We have a booth at Weekend Treasures in Griffin and I plan to put my products there.

You know, you can't really beat a blue hydrangea for Southern beauty. This pretty blossom is from our house. The plant is putting out more and more flowers while our two other plants are just sitting there. I guess it just isn't their year to bloom. Maybe next year?

OK, I'm guilty. While Charlie and I were walking in our driveway the other day, we saw this turtle digging a hole for her eggs. I thought she had the hole dug and was laying the eggs so I started taking pictures knowing she wouldn't leave until finished. After a few pictures, I continued walking and when we next walked by, she was gone with the hole halfway dug. I felt terrible! I guess she figured we were a risk to her babies. Little did she know that Charlie planned to stake off her area so we wouldn't run over the nest.

I hope she found another spot soon and I hope I get another chance to see a turtle lay her eggs. It is one of the things on my life's 'To Do' list. I'd love to see a sea turtle but you know, a simple box turtle in the yard would be just fine. What is on your list? Making any headway with it? The older I get, the more I seem to appreciate the little things and am in constant awe at what nature has to offer just in our yard.

Hello Everyone,

It has been two weeks since I've posted and I've missed it. We've just been too busy for me to get to the blog. If you are from the Griffin area, I hope you saw the BRAG (Bike Ride Across Georgia) that came through this past weekend. Our house is on the route going to Macon from Spalding High and we got to see loads of bikers pass by early Monday morning. We had five of them (my brother-in-law and friends) spend the night Sunday night. It was fun listening to their stories about the ride from Oxford, the heat and their past rides. The ride ends, after 433 miles, in St. Simons on Saturday. I road BRAG three years with friends and we had a blast! Right now, I'm sorry to say, I don't think I could ride an hour or 10 miles without really, really hurting.

Now, on to business. Yes, we are still closing our doors on July 9th and there are great bargains to be had. Our dealers are discounting their merchandise along with us. Don't let these good deals get away!

Big News From Out of the Past

We have some big news to tell you.

Charlie and I have decided to retire again and close the store. This 4+ year venture has been great. We've met wonderful people, had loads of fun, learned a lot and basically thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We know that although we want to stay in the business in some form or fashion, we are looking for some more flexibility with our time.

The business is for sale so if you know someone who would like to get into the antiques business, please send them our way!

We plan to close on July 9th so right now, we are ready to bargain. Our dealers are having sales as well so now is the time to get some really great deals!

Pictured are more great finds from our dealers and us. There is something for everyone but first, you know I have to start off with a nature shot.

One evening, while sitting on the porch and discussing closing the store, all of the sudden we noticed this little guy strutting across the porch puffing out his throat trying to find a girlfriend, I guess. Anyway, I ran in to get my camera and was able to get a few pictures of him on this flower pot. Obviously he wasn't trying to impress me because he refused to puff anymore. I guess he knew I was 'spoken for'. Ya think?

Hello From Out of the Past

Wow, what beautiful weather we've been having here in the South. Each day seems to be prettier and prettier. Thankfully, we missed the horrible storms that swarmed around us.

Hope all of you did as well.

Last week, I featured furniture we still have from the estate sale two weekends ago. This week I've featured some sterling flatware pieces. They are the Repousse pattern by S. Kirk and Son. I'm not sure of the dates of this pattern but my research indicates it may be 1932-1961. No matter how old it is, the pattern is stunning! I have also featured some interesting items we have around the shop.

First, of course, is my nature shot. Every year in the Spring, at the base of an old pecan tree we have in our yard, this beautiful clover appears and then blooms and blooms and blooms. This picture really doesn't do it justice but I do like the contrast of the blossoms with the bark.

Greetings From Out of the Past

A big thank you goes out to all of you who helped make the estate sale last weekend a success. We sold loads of smalls but not as much furniture or silver as we did during the estate sale we had in February. So, with that in mind, I've taken more pictures of the furniture available and if you are looking for a deal, come and get it.

I've also featured items in the shop. Note the license plates and the Grandfather and Grandmother figurines below. The grandparents are really piggy banks and have "Retirement Fund" written on the back. The license plates are from one of our dealers who specializes in them. He has over 500 in his personal collection plus numerous others for sale from all over the U.S. In fact, he and his wife are heading to California soon and will be on the search for more while on their trip.

Last but not least, I'm once again starting this posting off with a nature picture. The one below is of a day lily bud at our home. This particular lily was given to me by a dear friend who also happened to be a fellow educator and our oldest son's first grade teacher. (She retired after having him - coincidence? Sure hope so!). Anyway, she, along with her grandchildren, gave them to me when I retired and I have split them up several times since then. I am really looking forward to seeing the blooms! Stay tuned. I usually don't name my pictures but when I saw the bud, the word 'promise' stuck in my mind so this one is so named.

This cherry table was bought in the 1950's. It is a Hinkel Harris piece from Winchester, Va. The chairs, also solid cherry, were bought in the late 50's or early 60's right here in Griffin and are Traditional Willett. The Willett Furniture Company was based in Louisville, Ky.

Yesterday when I got home, one of the bearded iris buds I have been watching had burst forth during the day. What a beauty! These flowers have so many parts that I had to focus on the beard for a second picture. (Please let me know if I have identified these flowers incorrectly. I simply love taking pictures of flowers but rarely have a clue as to what they are - sad but true.)

Estate Sale in Two Weeks!

Save the date, we are going to have another estate sale in the warehouse next door on May 8-10th. For our blog and store friends and customers, we will open at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday May 8th. We will advertise to the general public for May 9th and 10th. So, with that in mind, make sure you mark your calendar to come.

This estate features a huge variety of items, most of which hail from the mountains of Virginia. It has jewelry, pottery, glassware, furniture, art, books, linens, etc. etc.

Lots going on at the store and in real life (all good).

We are starting to get ready for a "Spring Cleaning" sale next week. We plan to have a store-wide sale with everything 20% off! The sale starts Thursday, April 17th and goes through Saturday, April 19th. The 20% off means there will be fantastic deals all over the store.

Driving down the street has been breath taking lately. The cherry trees have been in great form this year and not having one at home, I called a friend to find out if I could take a picture of their tree. Of course, he said yes so away I went to get a shot. Standing under the tree was wonderful, I felt like I was in another world and the bees were quite busy and completely ignored me.

When doing the dishes after dinner this evening, I looked out and lo and behold, there were five deer just grazing away. I don't know if O.A. was one of them but after taking pictures through the screen again, it does look like the second one from the left might have a mark on his side where O.A. had one. My imagination wants it to be him so maybe it is! I know it is hard to see but what do you think? (New folks to this blog should scroll down to the first posting about the deer so all of this will make sense.)

"Hunting Season", Mystery Item, Black Vultures and a Note to O.A. Joe

Here is hoping that all of you are well. We've been busy and excited about the warmer weather and 'hunting season' (antique/collectible hunting that is) really getting underway. Speaking of experienced hunters, make sure you look at our dealer pictures on the sidebar. The third picture of the mystery item and a note from a reader to O.A. Joe are also posted.

The first picture, or my nature shot, is once again from our home. Charlie and I were sitting on the porch one afternoon when he noticed a huge bird perched on the top of the old milk barn on the property. The next morning, it was back and I was able to get a picture. We found out it was a black vulture which are smaller but more aggressive than turkey vultures. Later, two were perched up there but of course I didn't have my camera. These birds must have been migrating because we haven't seen any since. The picture gives the illusion that I am pretty close to it but in reality, it is three stories high. Although this isn't my usual type of shot, we both found the birds to be very interesting.

Charlie found this buffet recently at an auction. It needed some work which is in the process, but as you can see, it has some stunning features. It should be very pretty when finished.
These brackets would be great paired with a shelf or as a single with a small shelf.

Yea, Spring is here!! It is definitely my favorite time of the year. One of my favorite plants is the Resurrection Fern. The picture below is from a tree in our yard. Note the inserted picture which shows the ferns last week and compare them to how they look after yesterday's rain.

Spring is on the Way and A New Mystery Item

Spring is almost officially here! YEA!!! This morning I spotted this dandelion catching the morning sun as it peeked around the tree.

You know, even a weed can be beautiful.

Below, the first picture you'll see is of the recently published brochure

"South of Atlanta Antiques and Dining". This brochure highlights great antique shops and restaurants in Henry and Spalding County. You can pick one up here at our shop and at many of the shops and restaurants around town.

Next, you'll see that we have moved the Southern Belles Milk Soap back here to the shop. The soap is amazing and makes your skin feel wonderful. Come in, get a free sample and give it a try. I think you'll like it as much as Charlie and I do.

Finally, there are shots of bottles and pictures we have in the shop. The first Coke bottle is quite old, c. 1905-1916. The second one is from right here in Griffin, Georgia and was bottled right up the street from our shop.

Both are great collectibles.

The pictures highlighted are all beautiful. One is oil and the others are water color. We think you'll like them all.

Mystery Item, Auction Finds and O.A. Joe

This week we have a lot of interesting news. First of all, it is time to reveal February's Mystery Item - it is a Broom Holder! Our winner is Ron Versic from Ohio. Way to go Ron!!

Second and once again, Charlie has been to an auction and found some very interesting items. Some are ready to be used and/or displayed, another has 'potential'.

(You'll see when you look at the pictures.) Make sure you check out the dealer pictures on the side bar. These folks continue to bring in great things!

Last but not least, do you remember the picture of the deer I posted in February? Well, the deer with one antler wrote me an email with his story - really! His name is One Antler Joe, aka O. A. Joe. Read his letter below.

"Dear Chris,
My name is O. A. Joe. I’m writing you because you wanted to know the story behind why I have only one antler. To make a very long story short, I was in a love triangle, fought and lost my antler but gained the lady I was after. She is beautiful, lively and will make a very good mother to our babes once we have some. However, although she is the object of my affection, her heart is not with me, it’s with the Stag I beat. Bottom line is I’m going to have to let her go back to the one she truly loves.
I want to thank you for your interest and curiosity regarding my antlers and I do wish the story was more uplifting but alas, it isn’t.

OK, it is still February (one day left) and technically Winter, but... hey, we're in the South. Isn't this cold weather supposed to be over? Sale a Success and Back to Normal

Whew, the Warehouse Consignment Estate Sale is over and was quite a success. Charlie and I want to thank all of you that came and we hope you are happy with your finds. In fact, we know that we'll be doing another estate sale in a few months. We'll keep you posted. For now though, we're back to normal.

The eclipse last night was amazing. I really don't have the right camera for a lunar shot but after several tries, I was able to get one picture that wasn't completely blurry. The second picture is from our yard this week. I woke up, looked out the window and saw these guys grazing. We see deer fairly often but I've never seen any with antlers. I had to take the pictures from inside and through the window screen so it really isn't that good but I still had to share. The deer in the foreground with the scar only has one antler. I would love to know his story.

It seems like we've been getting ready for this Warehouse Consignment Estate Sale for quite some time and it is almost here! Only one week to go before the doors open to a huge number of great finds for all of you adventurers, hunters and gatherers. This week's pictures are devoted to giving you more of a sneak-peek as to what to expect. Mystery Object and Winner Revealed!

Several of you guessed this month's mystery object correctly. It is a beehive string holder, c. 1930's. A ball of string was placed on the inside and then the string was threaded through the top hole which made it much easier to control.

Winter, Auction, Mystery Object and Estate Sale - What a Week!

Wow, what a week. There is lots to tell you about but let us first start with the weather and SNOW!

Winter Snow

You know, as Charlie and I were driving into the shop last Saturday, we were wondering just how stupid we were opening up the store on such a wintery, snowy day. As it turned out, there were lots of people out shopping and enjoying the infrequent snow in the South. While at the shop that day, I had a chance to walk through the cemetary next door during "the blizzard". It was beautiful and you know I couldn't resist taking pictures.

Mystery Object

The sidebar has the fourth and final picture of the mystery object for January. As a hint, this object would probably have been used at the counter of a general store or any type of retail establishment where purchases were wrapped up. So far, we have one and only one correct guess. So give it a try!

Auction

Tuesday night, Charlie went to an auction and found quite a few wonderful treasures. Here are a few pictures of some of his finds.

An Incredible Enamel Rexall Sign
A very tall lamp wooden lamp body- in fact, it is my height, 5'6". When Charlie bought it, it was covered with dirt and the painted design was barely visible. Now it is all cleaned up and a beautiful Japanese lady, along with other elements,

has been revealed.

This is one of many, many buttons. (More pictures to follow next week.) I looked online for a Jackie Gleason button and found none.

Things are getting interesting here From Out of the Past. We are going to host a consignment estate sale February 14th through February 16th. The sale will be next door in the attached building that we are using for a warehouse. It is brimming with an incredible mixture of antiques, collectibles, modern items, furniture and china of all types including Desert Rose and Double Phoenix. The family decided they would rather sell the items offsite rather than at the home so they have boxed and hauled loads of things for weeks. Thursday, February 14th, the first day, is for our blog recipients and our mailing list customers. We will advertise a start date of February 15th to the general public.

So, with that in mind...........SAVE THE DATE!!!

We've been busy this week. Charlie found two great bowls, both of which are pictured here. The first is a Vaseline Glass bowl. A characteristic of this type of glass is that it is yellow/green in color and glows under a blacklight. When we put it under the light, it was a thrill. I've seen Vaseline glass before but never the glow under a blacklight. So, check out the pictures to see what I'm talking about.

Last Monday morning, after all of the rain on Sunday, I looked out of our dining room window and saw the sun streaking through the fog. I couldn't resist taking pictures, hoping to capture the beautiful sight. These were taken from our front porch and I didn't realize our cat was in one of them. She was born in the building next door to a feral mother who abandoned her and yes, she only has about an inch or so of tail, no accident, just born that way.

As I was starting to pack up our Christmas decorations last week, I realized how much I enjoy seeing them. So, we decided to set up a "Christmas Corner" and keep it up year-round. We plan to add to the corner any vintage Christmas decorations we find throughout the year.

This beautiful patterned glass bowl was made by Bryce, Higbee & Co., c.1885. It is one of many pieces we have in this pattern. There are no known reproductions or look-a-likes made of the pattern but as you can see, it has lots of names. We have bowls, goblets, spooners, plates, and more in the pattern. This bowl is $40.

December's Marching On!

The second week in December and it has been in the 70's - can you believe it? I feel like we are living the Hawaiian climate without the benefit of the ocean.

I had breakfast with friends this week and we had a discussion about using up the earth's resources, recycling, etc. Although I've thought about this before, I started thinking again about the antique/collectibles business and realize that's what we and our customers do. We recycle, restore, reuse and repurpose wonderful items from the past.

Speaking of marching, this week's first two pictures show two of eight members of "Santa's Marching Band" by Mr. Christmas. There are seven band members and Santa who play 35 different carols.They have been so much fun to watch and to hear. They just bring a smile to your face.

Can't say that I would have ever thought of cutting a gallon jug in half and using it to serve an appetizer. A cheese board is under the top half and I would think you could put crackers, chips, etc. in the bottom half.

December is Here!

Yes, December is here. The days are shorter and cooler (turtleneck and fleece weather), the sun sets earlier and time is marching on towards Christmas. I don't know about you but my decorating and shopping are already behind. We'll all get there though.

This week I've tried to do pictures of a wide variety of things, basically something for everyone. The first picture is of a miniature portrait from an estate sale in Virginia. The portrait is on vellum and signed by the painter, Weiss. It is mounted in an enclosed frame and can be worn as a pendant or a pin. The whole thing is only 2" x 1.5". Isn't she beautiful?

Flower frogs. Don't know whether the one situated in the bowl came like that origionally or it just fits together nicely. That is the way we found it.

You know we have a weakness for metal furniture. Just this week Charlie bought this chair. Needs paint but is structurally sound.
Project update: Charlie is still working on this cabinet. The top had some issues which he has mended and now the final sanding will begin.

This table and stool are works in progress as well. Stay tuned - I never know how things will turn out!

Lots of folks decorate their trees with cookie cutters - cute idea!

Not for the tree especially, although I guess it could be done, but for those baking projects - old wooden rolling pins. (I have my mother's and have never used anything else.)

Newest project - A friend brought us this table. It is a good size and has a butterfly leaf but the finish was in rough shape. As you can see, Charlie is in the process painting the legs with different layers of color. Anyone recognize this color from the 50's and/or 60's. After he finishes, he'll sand the paint so the layers will show through and then sand and finish the top.

Stay tuned for how it turns out. I know it will be amazing in the end.

Fall is here, the weather is cool, we've finally had a little rain and nature's beauty is amazing. Thanksgiving is almost here as well and we have a lot to be thankful for - family, friends and country. We thank all of you for your friendship, interest and support. We feel blessed.

Veteran's Day was Sunday and a huge thank you goes out to all of our veterans and current soldiers. It is scary to think where we'd all be without you.

The shop news this week is that we have a new dealer that has moved in! "Cabin Fever" is now at From Out of the Past. This booth is full of primitives and all kinds of great finds. Check out Cabin Fever in the sidebar.

For those looking to fill in their Fitz and Floyd Christmas china from 1982, we've got it. We have ten-four piece place settings of the china. Isn't it beautiful?

For that primitive Christmas look, how about some flannel ornaments? All of these ornaments were made from old flannel shirts. (If you know Charlie, you know that we have a lot of flannel at our house!)

This is a Wagner cast iron skillet. For those that love to cook those special things in cast iron, this is perfect as it is deeper than most. Wagner, along with Griswold, are quite collectible.

Not only do we have Wagner and Griswold skillets, we have a wall of cast iron. If you are looking for a particular size of skillet, there is a good chance we'll have it.

This is a very old wrench. It works by sliding the bottom clasp up and down by the lever and then pushing the lever to the handle to tighten the grip.

More from the Estate!

OK, we're still getting things from the estate I told you about last week. The first picture, believe it or not, is Charlie scrubbing a primitive cabinet just picked up today. It is a work in progress so stay tuned, it should end up looking fabulous. Note the chairs, they go with the yellow formica topped table in the second picture.

This estate has a lot of great items and it has been a fun experience to see what he'll come back to the shop with next. You need to come in to see, there is no way I can picture everything here!

P.S. I've been fooling around with the colors to get the blog more Fall looking. Bad idea?

Wow! November Starts Off With a Blast!

Some weeks, we never know what we'll find or what people will bring to us. This week was amazing. On Tuesday, we got 30 marionettes - yes, 30. Can you believe it? We have Howdy Doody (somehow I keep calling him Howdy Dowdy - go figure), Captain Hook, Pinocchio, Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring, a Boy Scout, a squirrel and many, many more. They are all quite old and really amazing. See them below.

Last Saturday Charlie and I were in Opelika, Ala. and found the 5 gallon can from Elis Company. We thought it was a great find!

Now today, we started picking up estate items from an estate we are buying. The pictures are from the first load. Nothing is inventoried in yet but I wanted you to get a preview of all of the antique/vintage items we have so far. There are 2-3 more loads to go so keep a watch out for what we get. I'll post more about the estate as we get it inventoried and priced.

Last but not least, we were able to purchase the Morgan Silver Dollars pictured. What great stocking stuffers they would make.

Been Painting Again!

I've been painting again. Really like working with blackboard paint! Here are three more pieces I've done. The first is a two paneled cabinet door. Both panels are now chalkboards. The second and third pictures are the same piece. One side is painted in Christmas colors and the other is a dark tan. There are hooks to change the ribbon for the time of the year. The last two pictures are the same idea. Each piece is $35.
The double paneled door and the one with the black and white gingham ribbon are both for sale at Weekend Treasures. The one paneled door pictured last week and Christmas ribbon board below are for sale here at the shop.

So, what did you do on Columbus Day? Charlie and I went foraging. A friend has bought some property with a falling down house on a nearby lake. He asked us to see if there was anything of value there before he has it torn down and rebuilds. So, off we went. Fall is Special!

Fall is finally here. The weather is considering cooling down. (At least it is definitely cooler than the 100+ we had in August.) Football is in the air and the leaves will be turning before we know it. It is time to get out, explore and look for those great finds. We think we have lots of them in our shop!

Our features this week are from various dealer booths in the store (note side bar) and from a rather new shop in downtown Griffin, Weekend Treasures, 125 S. Hill Street. Charlie and I have two spots (shelves really) in that shop. One of shelf displays features Southern Belles Milk Soap. We have quite a variety of the soaps for sell there and if you haven't tried any yet, you are in for a treat when you do. Along with the soap are lighted bottles which we call Bottle-de-Lites. Check out the pictures, these bottles are just plain fun. On the other set of shelves, you will find a variety of items from a set of amber glasses to art work. You'll be in for a fun experience when you visit this shop.

From Out of the Past is an antiques store here in Griffin, Georgia. We have approximately 5000 square feet of all kinds of treasures. Over the past few months, we have expanded our business by adding U.S. coins and believe it or not, goat’s milk soap to our inventory. Charlie is the coin dealer and has quite a large collection of U.S. coins which he thoroughly enjoys. The goat’s milk soap came about after meeting the makers of the soap at an antique show. We are using the soap at home and simply love it.

The store has five other dealers who rent space from us to sell their unique antiques and collectibles. The rest of the space is packed with all kinds of fun and fabulous finds and treasures. If you are looking for that special something, especially something you remember that your grandparents may have had on the farm, come see us. There is a good chance we will have it. We have space for more dealers so contact us either by telephone or via email.

Note the Treasure Chest below. It is an old cabinet from the Experiment Station here in Griffin. We think it was used by the Entomology Department since we found bug slides inside it. We are using it to house various treasures. Each drawer has wonderful treasures just ripe for the taking.

We are located at 430 East Taylor Street on HWY 16 approximately 10 miles from I-75, exit 205. We are not hard to spot, from I-75, just look for the gold building right after the cemetery. If you are coming from the west, just look for the old Coca Cola Bottling plant in the block after Taylor Street Middle School. We are at the other end of the block, right before the cemetery. We are open Tuesday-Saturday each week and would love to have you come see us.
